There was a carnival like atmosphere at the crossroads as friends and family reconnected and entertained each other.

A pig was roasted on a spit with Alan Cullen of Noreside Catering at the helm and there was music by Pat Treacy and revelry into the weee hours.

Guest of honour was Stefan Doyle who has just returned from Australia as part of the 2013 gathering. The event was hosted by Jim and Theresa Connolly.

Another Gathering event took place in Graignamangh last Saturday when the Stokes and Bolgers and their extended friends and family reunited. Cousins and siblings from the the family of Tom Bolger and Grandfather Bob Stokes gather in their ancestral home town with people travelling from all over Ireland and several people making the trip from the UK.
