Small animal vet

Our small animal hospital is one of the most modern in the country. It is purpose built and fully equipped with state of the art equipment including:

  • Fully monitored gas anaesthesia
  • Digital radiography
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscopy
  • Blood testing
  • Dental descaling and polishing including endodontics
  • Electonic scales

Richie Brennan has recently been awarded the GP Certificate in Small Animal surgery and is now on the ESVPS register of recognised specialist small animal surgeons. Helen Austin is currently studying for the same qualification.

Our new clinic has a dedicated sterile operating theatre for orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. We are continuously updating and adding to our surgical equipment.

We also have seperate cat and dog wards to help your pet have a stress free stay at our clinic.

Farm Animals

We deal with all aspects of farm animal work from TB testing to assisting cows calving to herd/flock health issues. We mostly see cattle and sheep but also look after pigs, goats, chickens and even the occasional alpaca.

Our staff are on hand to provide advice on herd/flock health issues such as vaccination, worming,etc and we also supply all the medicines needed for farm animals.

Equine

We cater for all aspects of your horse's health. Our facilities include a stocks to restrain your horse during examination and a padded knock down room for minor surgical preocedures.

We have modern ultrasound scanners as well as endoscopes to examine your horses respiratory system (scoping). Our clinic has a digital xray system which helps us diagnose any problems with your horse much quicker and effectively. Horse's teeth need regular rasping and we also provide this service.

Our vets are on duty at every race meeting at Gowran Park Racecourse. This is a huge responsibility ensuring all horses are cared for to the highest standard should they be injured.

Our vets carry out regular equine work such as castrations, dealing with wounds, vaccinations and many more common procedures.

Our staff are available to provide information and advice on vaccination and worming. We stock a full range of equine wormers and equine health supplies.
